University of North Carolina - Greensboro
Environmental Sustainability Report

"Sustainability at the university level has become a way of life. From the learning of advancements in new technologies to the investigation of renewing our precious resources, we have an opportunity to teach moderation in our everyday lives. UNCG has made a commitment to improve upon the way we do our business in order to help preserve our precious resources. We routinely test new equipment (such as waterless urinals—and yes, they do work) to see how the technology might save resources and fit into our everyday life, no matter how “out there” the idea might be. Operational changes to preserve must happen on a routine basis. We know that sustainability has to become part of our lives and that we must take every opportunity to share the lessons we have learned. "

-F. Baker Melson, Director of Physical Plant
