The NC Department of Revenue has implemented the following ongoing projects in the last year:

1. The beginning phases of our data capture project allow for electronic data storage and will eliminate storage of large volumes of paper
   in the future.


2. We have tax forms on the internet and encourage filing them electronically to cut down on paper use and storage.

In the future, the Department will expand its use of the Data Capture capability, and we will increase efforts to have taxpayers file electronically. The Department has initiated an active an aggressive E-Commerce effort to improve these capabilities.
