This handbook is intended to aid in the assessment of the potential energy, environmental, and economic impacts of research supported by the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE's) Office of Industrial Technologies (OIT). Information contained herein may help to determine specific project benefits and justify the continuation of research. It can also serve as a reference tool for information on a wide number of topics generally associated with energy and environmental research and development, such as environmental regulations, technology transfer issues, energy statistics, waste classifications, industry trade data, and economic issues.
