2 recipes with pork for the Christmas meal

The Christmas And perhaps it is the perfect time to add new recipes to our table and give a chance to a tasty and highly nutritious meat: pork, which in its different preparations, invites us to create incredible dishes at this special time.

Today we bring you two delicious recipes with pork: Beer chops and Ribs in BBQ sauce, with the seasoning of Rocío Oyanguren from ‘Las Recetas de Yo Madre’. Both preparations are part of the new recipe book of the Federation of Meat Exporters of the United States.

  • 4 pork chops
  • 1 can of lager beer
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of cornstarch or chuño
  • 1 drizzle of olive or vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste


  1. Chop the onion and garlic into small cubes.
  2. Season the chops with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Fry the chops in hot oil and let them brown and cook on both sides. Reservation.
  4. In the same oil, brown the onion and diced garlic until the onion crystallizes, but over low heat.
  5. Add the beer and let the alcohol evaporate. When it has reduced, add the cornstarch diluted in a little water and stir constantly until it thickens and no lumps form.
  6. Time to incorporate the chops and let it mix with the sauce to absorb the flavors. Cover the pot or skillet for about 3 minutes and it is ready to serve.

Recipe for ribs in BBQ sauce

  • 1 kilo of ribs
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • ¼ cup red vinegar
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon chili or paprika powder
  • 1 piece of onion
  • Salt and pepper


  1. Wash and parboil your ribs in about 1 liter of water with a pinch of salt and a piece of onion to give it a little flavor for 20 minutes. After that time, remove and reserve both the broth and the ribs.
  2. Once your ribs have cooled, season with salt, pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil on both sides.
  3. Place your ribs in a source that you will then take to the oven.
  4. Prepare your BBQ sauce by mixing the tomato sauce, vinegar, mustard, soy sauce, chili and brown or white sugar in a bowl. Mix well and you will add it to your parboiled ribs.
  5. Take your ribs to the preheated oven at 180 ° C for about 40 minutes. It is important that at minute 20 you check the cooking and add a little of the broth that you had reserved, and supervise that it never lacks a little liquid.
  6. After that time, you can remove your ribs from the oven, and you will see how the bone practically detaches from the meat, so it is ready to enjoy.
