In the midst of the third wave due to coronavirus and the advance of the omicron variant, the Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that 17.2% of the target population in Peru have already been vaccinated with the third dose (or booster dose) against the COVID-19.
In its latest daily report, the Health sector specified that this percentage represents 4’818.278 people who were immunized with the booster dose.

According to the Minsa, the target population is men and women over 12 years of age, which in Peru add up to 27,946,434 people, according to the data updated this year by the National Institute of Statistics and Informatics (INEI).
In the information accumulated as of January 7, The Minsa also reports that 51% of the population over 60 years received the booster dose of the vaccine.

According to the Single National Repository of Health Information (You gather), the Ministry of Health has applied 51’753,207 doses of coronavirus vaccine since the vaccination process began.
Of that total mentioned, 24’806,712 correspond to the first dose; 22′28,217 people immunized with the two doses; and 4′818.278 already have the third dose.
