The National Emergency Operations Center (COEN) of the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci) reported that the number of ports closed on the north and center coast fell to 15. The preventive measure occurs in the presence of abnormal waves, due to the volcanic eruption that occurred 73 kilometers north of Nukualofa (Tonga).

Through a publication on its Twitter account, the COEN indicated that it monitors the development of said event on the Peruvian coast with the Directorate of Hydrography and Navigation of the Peruvian Navy. In the tweet he indicates that the abnormal waves are of light and moderate intensity.
