Eden Hazard arrived at real Madrid in mid-2019 with the illusion of getting into the history of the club. Unfortunately for his interests, physical problems reduced his performance and to this day he is in debt to the fans. However, the ‘Duke’ wants revenge, he assures that playing in Chamartín has been the goal of his life and that after three seasons weighed down by injuries, he has two years left on his contract at the white club in which he wants to show what can do on a football field.
“The coach knows: I still have two years here, the first three years have not gone well. I want to show everyone what I can do. Start Saturday –in the Champions League final against Liverpool– and continue next season”, said the captain of the Belgium team in an interview published today by the Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws.
“I’m still in my dream, I always have. The purpose of my life has been to play here. My family has always been happy here, now they are happy”added the attacker, who has hardly played any minutes this season, in which he underwent another operation on his ankle in March to remove a plate from a previous operation.
The player pointed out that the objective was to take time to take care of himself and not go “too fast” as it happened in 2021, when trying to speed up the recovery periods and that the coach, Carlo Ancelotti, understood “right” the situation.
“I feel good, the operation went well. Everyone knows I needed it, I was lucky to be able to do it. I’m just in time for the Champions League final.”Hazard added.
Facing that top game, he assured that he tries to prepare as if it were any other duel thinking that, although it generates more attention, on the field it is the same. “I try to laugh and forget about the pressure”he concluded.
