Minsa: 20 deaths and 1,196 new infections of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) reported that today, Saturday, December 25, a total of 20 people died as a result of the COVID-19. With this number, the death toll from the deadly virus in Peru rose by 202,488. In addition, it reported that infections increased by 5,922 (1,196 in the last 24 hours), so that the total number of infected people reaches 2,278,807.

The Minsa also reported that there are a total of 2,796 hospitalized patients, of which 875 are on mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU).

Vaccines in Peru

So far, Peru has received more than 25 million Sinopharm vaccines, more than 31 million from Pfizer and more than 4 million from AstraZeneca. All these are applied according to the programming by age groups established by the Government after vaccinating with priority health personnel, older adults and members of the National Police, Armed Forces and Firefighters.
