Real Madrid shakes Italy: sign a transition striker until Haaland arrives

real Madrid has not lost the illusion of signing Erling Braut Haaland to empower his attack for the next decade. Logically, it will not be in this or the next summer pass market, but in 2024. By that date, the champion of Spain and Europe has drawn up a roadmap that allows him to get the Norwegian striker out of Manchester City for 150 million euros. This is stipulated in an exit clause that Mino Raiola, a former Nordic representative, included in the contract with the Premier League monarchs shortly before he died.

Thus, in Real Madrid there is plenty of optimism to see Haaland scoring goals at the Bernabéu from 2024. And while that moment arrives, Florentino Pérez and Carlo Ancelotti comb the transfer market in search of a striker who saves room for Haaland . It is nothing less than Edin Dzeko.

According to information from the Catalan portal El Nacional, in Valdebebas they do not want to sign a young or expensive striker for this season. The reason is because Karim Benzema is indisputable in attack. The senior staff does not see the point in taking a star to sit on the substitute bench.

Along these lines, Chamartín’s team is looking for a ‘low cost’ and experienced signing, characteristics that fit the profile of Edin Dzeko, who despite his advanced age, has not lost his goalscoring ability. In fact, in the last Serie A campaign, with Inter Milan, the Bosnian scored 17 goals in 49 games.

“With the signing of Dzeko, Ancelotti would have an experienced striker with spectacular goalscoring ability who would agree to be the natural replacement for Benzema. The striker, for his part, could try out in the Spanish League, after having triumphed in Germany, England and Italy”, publishes El Nacional.

The reality of Dzeko at Inter Milan dictates that he has a contract in the San Siro neighborhood until mid-2023. Real Madrid would have to reach an agreement with the Italians, something that would not be so complicated if the return of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea and the arrival of Paulo Dybala as a free agent.

The veteran Bosnian striker is aware that he would not have much space in the new trident that Inter is trying to put together, so he would not look badly on a change of scenery despite the fact that he has one year left on his contract with the ‘Neroazzurri ‘. According to the aforementioned media, Dzeko would sign with Madrid for one season.

The 36-year-old Bosnian attacker is valued at 4 million euros, as it appears on the Transfermarkt portal. The Sarajevo native has previously worn the shirts of Wolfsburg, Manchester City, Roma, among other clubs.
