School mobility: Check HERE what are the requirements to provide this service

Within the framework of the next return to face-to-face classes at the national level, scheduled for March 28, the Urban Transport Authority for Lima and Callao (TO YOU) details what are the requirements and documents that are needed to provide the service of school mobility in Lima and Callao.

According to entitythe natural or legal person authorized to provide the transportation service for schoolchildren must be registered as an “Active” and “Been” taxpayer in the Sole Taxpayer Registry of the Sunat.

In addition, to access the student transport modality, the vehicle must belong to the category:

  • M1: Minimum net weight of 1,000 kg. and a minimum cylinder capacity of 1450 cm3 (or up to 15 cm3 less).
  • M2: Gross Weight: five tons or less.
  • M3: Gross Weight: greater than five tons and yellow body color.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Safety equipment.
  • Seats fixed to the structure.
  • Security belts on every sit.
  • Rear view mirrors.
  • Plate number visible and located on both sides of the unit.
  • Interior floor covered with non-slip material.
  • Legend ‘School service’ front and back of the vehicle.
  • Not older than 20 years old.
  • Red and white reflective retro sheets.

It is also necessary to have safety cones or triangles, a suitable lifting jack for the vehicle, a spare tire, a first-aid kit, and a fire extinguisher in optimal condition.

You must have the Mandatory Traffic Accident Insurance (SOAT) or the Traffic Accident Certificate (CAT) in force to provide the service, the Vehicle Technical Inspection Certificate (CITV) and comply with the protocols to prevent the spread of COVID- 19.

WHAT REQUIREMENTS MUST THE DRIVER MEET?

The driver must have the AIIb driver’s license and apply to the ATU for their driver’s license, the authorization to provide the service and obtain the Single Electronic Circulation Card (TUCE).

All these procedures can be carried out, free of charge, from the virtual platform of procedures of the ATU (http://sistemas.atu.gob.pe/plataformavirtual).

ANSWER DOUBTS AND CONSULTATIONS

The ATU has made service modules available to operators and parents where they can receive all the necessary information on student transport free of charge.

To do this, they only have to go to the Central Station (Fence of Lima) and to the Naranjal (Independencia) and Matellini (Chorrillos) terminals of the Metropolitano from Monday to Friday from 8 am to 6 pm
